No it does not take the same time to do the same thing right or shoddy. If you have so many seconds based on an average time, things can go wrong very quickly.
Also, it depends on what you think of the task. I mow my yard, my neighbor manicures his. He likes a beautiful lawn, I do not spend money on vegetation I can not eat.
My two biggest problems were drawer rail holders that snapped on almost every drawer and the slide stopping with little or no clearance to the wall. These were material and design features not shoddy workmanship.
