I doubt you will see any imports in any real quantity to challenge the market.
What very well may happen is that a foreign company will buy one of the existing American MFg's and start building their European models as a new model line within that company.
Or you may see a European MFG. build a plant in the states. But import is just too expensive to compete.
I suggested on this forum a long time ago that the solution to the manufacturing issue was pressure from the consumer press (Trailer Life and Motorhome) But those publications are the lap dogs of the industry and its aftermarket manufacturers.
If those publications would take an editorial stance on certain quality issues and then REVIEW products in accordance with those guidelines and call a bad design or poor quality what it really is then you would see some movement on the part of the manufacturers.
But the purchase prices will rise unless there is a big breakthrough in how units are built reducing the number of man hours involved and utilizing some new, lighter and stronger materials that are also inexpensive...that is a ways away for sure.
