"cheap materials is expected and understood...keeps the cost down....shoddy workmanship is different, though...and while tolerated, should not be expected or condoned"
This is the crux of the entire matter. To all who think we should shut up and tolerate shoddy workmanship I ask, do you tolerate this attitude for any other products you buy? Would you accept a home fridge that had a door that needed the screws installed correctly? How about a microwave whose door or control panel was installed crooked? How about a garage door that was installed off level and allowed rain to get under it and into the garage? And all of these examples are way less expensive purchases that an RV. Do people really think that it would take the installer more time, and cost more money, to assemble the coach correctly? I ask how would that be the case? If installing drawers it would take virtually the exact same time, and materials, to install them straight or crooked. As I stated earlier, I was a millwright in some very large plants for 20 years and have been a garage door contractor for the next 20 years and I see no excuse for shoddy workmanship. It all comes down to management insisting on the job being done correctly, the first time.
