Next week I'm trading in my 06 Jag for a 14 Keystone Bullet. The dealer agreed to a certain amount for the trade, sight unseen, contingent on the inspection when I trade it in next week. I'm actually trying to get that trade-in value bumped up, based on my NADA research and the good condition of my trade. But after reading this thread, I'm hoping the dealer doesn't concoct some nonsense about damage that I wasn't aware of. The salesman did ask if there was any evidence of water damage such as soft floors. That seems to be their primary concern.
Years ago I took my car to a transmission shop because it was slipping. They came to show me the transmission pan, saying it was full of metal shavings. It was obvious to me that they just took some dirt and metal pieces and threw them into the pan just before presenting it to me. I told him to reseal the tranny, and I left their shop and never went back. Don't ever try to play games with me or take advantage of a situation. Just be honest and you will garner my respect and my business. Many people in the industry don't seem to grasp that.
I can only hope this RV dealer does not play games with me.
