Okay so here's the question, when we are home I park the camper in the driveway and plug it in. Keeping the fridge running and the Air set on about 80 just to keep it from getting too stuffy in there, is this a good idea or is it better to leave everything unplugged when not in use?
A waste of energy IMO but if you're willing to foot the bill there's no reason not to. You haven't provided any information as to the make / model / year of rig you have but if it has a converter with a 3-stage charger then there's no reason you can't also leave it on to maintain the battery charge. That said, knowing what I know now but didn't years ago I'd only leave the trailer plugged in at home IF it's protected from anomalies in the power source, which are much more common than many would believe, just as is the case when camping. My Progressive Industries EMS-HW30C has saved the day more times than I can remember, both here at the house and when camping ... wouldn't ever plug in without having it protect the trailer's electrical system.
I have a 2007 Jayco Featherlite 25Z I do have a issue with my battery I'm working with so its bypassed at the moment. But I will defiantly look in to that device. Thanks
