So a trailer becomes pretty hot after a day of traveling outside of winter. I wondered about cracking the roof vents and maybe even a window or two to help keep it from getting too hot and needing the A/C for quite so long before you want to relax inside. Is this feesable? What do you do?

We do but we have the Maxxair covers that allow the vents to remain open at all times. I have seen vents that did not have the covers self destruct on the highway due to their flapping in the 60 mph or higher wind.

Roof vents open with MaxAir type covers are good.Windows open while towing are not good. (sucks dirt into the interior and can damage curtains, blinds, etc.)

another vote for covered roof vents open, all windows closed. Open windows on a highway even just a little will fill your trailer with road dust.In my personal experience, it doesn't help that much. If it's hot outside, circulating hot air isn't cooling anything down.When it's been HOT and MUGGY, and I'm headed somewhere with electric, I'll run my roof air off the inverter for a few hours before reaching my stop. Nothing better than having a nice cool trailer waiting after doing landing procedures in hot muggy weather.
