Keeping Cooler During Transit

So a trailer becomes pretty hot after a day of traveling outside of winter. I wondered about cracking the roof vents and maybe even a window or two to help keep it from getting too hot and needing the A/C for quite so long before you want to relax inside. Is this feesable? What do you do?

  • Same here, Maxxair covers and vents open. Do not open the windows.

If you have a generator you could run it and the roof top air but very few TT have built in generators.
  • Roof vents open with MaxAir type covers are good.
Windows open while towing are not good. (sucks dirt into the interior and can damage curtains, blinds, etc.)
  • We do but we have the Maxxair covers that allow the vents to remain open at all times. I have seen vents that did not have the covers self destruct on the highway due to their flapping in the 60 mph or higher wind.
