Had a great time.

But hold on to your wallet --- $100 a night, and Geiger Key too. Ouch.

There is NO camping in Key West, except for military folks, Stock Island at MM5 is the closest.

I camped at Geiger Key, not in Key West or Stock Island, but close. I loved it. Spring for the water front site.

How as it there? GREAT! A fun place, but a little weird, too!

I've never camped there, so I can't help you in that department. I did visit once though, and I have a specific memory of it.

In 1994, I attended a business conference in Palm Beach, FL, that ended on Friday. I needed to visit a client in Tampa on the following Monday, so I was looking for something fun to do for the weekend. I decided to drive down to Key West and stay there. I left Palm Beach on June 17, 1994 and headed south. On the radio, they kept talking about wanting to find and arrest O.J. Simpson for the murder of his wife. That's what I listened to the whole drive down (long drive).

When I checked into the motel that evening, I turned on the TV and watched the famous "car chase" back to Simpson's house.

I rented a moped and rode around the island on that Saturday, then left early Sunday morning for the long drive to Tampa.

Anyway, that's my memory of Key West. I hope you find what you want regarding camping there.

Did not like Key Lime Pie. Really enjoyed the margaritas :)

Boyds Key West Campground

We have stayed here many times, mostly in the summer when it wasn't crowded at all. We were there once in February and we were packed in like sardines. I never met anyone there I didn't like, and the staff at Boyds is great! I can't wait to go back even if its crowded.

I enjoy Key West. Do you like to eat, drink, and fish? Have fun.....
