The gutter was easy to apply, worked well and is still there after several years. You might want to ensure it's installed with a slight tilt so it drains to the side.
On the other hand, if it were me, I would get the topper.
I am considering the topper, however there is only 3.5" between the slideout and the bottom of the gutter when it's fully retracted. Is that enough clearance for a topper?
