It looks like a standard storage door unless I'm looking at it wrong. There can't be to much involved in repairing/replacing it. If it were me I'd get it fixed and worry about who's going to pay for it later.
You say it's upside down as in the hinge is at the bottom ?
I was wondering the same thing. It really helps if someone posts a full pic of an area then zoom in on areas.
