Tangential question---If a new trailer is purchased and has a two year warranty. The trailer is then sold to another owner. Doesn't the warranty transfer if the warranty time period hasn't expired?
The OP says he has a Keystone trailer so this statement from the Keystone Owner's Manual would apply ...
"This Limited Warranty may be transferred during the one (1) year term by the original consumer purchaser to a subsequent purchaser. The limited one (1) year warranty, however, shall in no way be extended beyond the one (1) year from the original date of purchase by reason of the transfer from the original consumer purchaser to any subsequent purchaser(s). The subsequent purchaser(s) also has an obligation to notify Keystone immediately upon the transfer of the warranty and to further provide proof of purchase within the one (1) year."
The OP said he purchased this trailer "at 8 mos" which by definition means he purchased it used. So the question is - did the OP ensure the one year factory was transferred to himself as a subsequent owner? Assuming so, did he then request warranty coverage for this issue he's complaining about within that first year of warranty coverage? My bet is the answer is no. :R
That's how I read it! Unless the OP is the 3rd owner (highly unlikely), then the trailer should've been taken care of when it was brought to the attention of Keystone. Whether or not the warranty was transferred doesn't make it right that Keystone didn't fix a problem they created and was still under warranty.
