That’s funny! I remember they had a rally a few years back and got some rain. All the local hotels filled up because they didn’t want to get their uni-mogs dirty by actually camping in them.
Bunch of guys in funny hats and pressed trousers.

    Not many out there.

The only truck camper cohort likely to buy something like this are global expeditioners (who frequent Expedition Portal). In fact, I have seen several of these Kimbo units for sale on the used market in the US. They sell in the $19,000 USD range used....

At my last count, there were 11 exotic expedition truck camper manufacturers making specialized units in the USA (my last count was ~4 months ago)....
  • Unusual that's for sure but to each there own. I have never boon docked so I can't say what I would be interested in as far as the camper I would have. I never liked the pop ups because I came face to face with a bear many years ago and the popup would be like paper for a creature like that. But a hard side would get my attention. When I look at something like this I ask myself why would anyone want this? A camper is just that a camper. Toilet, hot water, comfortable sitting and sleeping as well as a place to have conversation out of the rain and I suppose cooking would be on that list as well. Of course I'm not judging because obviously a fellow who is interested in something like this will look at this post and think I'm as crazy as I think he is. Again, to each his own and I'm just commenting on the topic nothing intended. It is interesting!!!
  • haven't seen one up here but from there website I can see why. messy ugly cheepest interior equipment and finnishing I have ever seen, just a open room with wire baskets hung all over. small amd expensive for what it is...

  • R5? That’ll be a fair weather camper. Pics are kind of messy too, looks like a frat house. We’ll see if this ever gets into production.
    Good luck to the entrepreneurs.
  • 1 thing I know for sure.
Fiats 500 and 6x6' Truck Campers are not going to become popular in this country.
  • I’ve seen them on the road, but never close up. I don’t remember anyone mentioning one here.

You might try looking for an owner’s forum or Facebook group.
  • Would be interesting to hear an owner’s opinion on them.
They’re built around here. I’ve seen maybe 2 of them on the road.
    Definitely a 1 person camper.
