I haul mine with no problem and tow too.
I've put 3000lbs of stone in the bed of a Chevy 1500 with no problem.
None of the above statements are relevant to the conversation.
We're talking about a brand new truck under warranty, where one of the stipulations of the warranty is that the truck's factory ratings have not been exceeded.
Here, Ford is selling an "accessory" for their F150s that will automatically put nearly all of them over GVWR before the driver even climbs into the driver's seat. Your Ford dealer is happily voiding your warranty for you, and documenting it.
The fact that the truck doesn't explode into a cloud of glitter and smoke when the camper is loaded is irrelevant. Ford gets a free pass to welch on ANY warranty work, and the customer happily pays for it! - DWeikertExplorer II

Yeah, a lot of the aluminum bodied F150's have payloads of around that, but then add a passenger and a full tank of fresh water...
What's the world coming to when the manufacturer openly encourages overloading their trucks by selling accessories for their trucks that are too heavy for the trucks to haul and stay in the factory ratings?
It's probably going to be a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" deal, same as any other towing or hauling issue. When pressed, the official answer will probably be that you can't actually put anything in the camper or bring passengers along.
After reading that on the web page I went to the Ford site, and sure enough there are some F150 configurations that'll handle it. Not many, but some...

It seems that there are already campers that are lighter.

Towable???:h
They do look nice.
I think they mean it doesn't stick out past the bumper so you can tow something. I guess.
