Kind of sad

Well I just watched my truck drive off into the sunset with some stranger behind the wheel.
Other than the HPFP issue that was a darn good truck- I put 110k miles on her and not one of them was easy! Kind of think I should have kept her.

Funny how we can grow attached to truck. I am gonna miss her!

I will update my signature when I pick up my new girl next week. She is gonna be even better than the old one- I hope! :)

  • As long as my next vehicle is as nice or nicer than the old one I am happy to see it go! There was probably a reason I sold it in the first place, so I rarely look back.

Hope your next truck is a good one.

  • I hear you- I have owned many cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats...
Just something about that truck- I am sure all the fun we had going to some great places in it is the reason.
I decided to sell it after it stranded me-
I am sure the new one will be even better- and it would be nice to have with all the snow predicted this week!
  • Last fall I saw my first 5ver going down the road. Same stickers etc. We had it when my daughter was 6 (she now teaches middle school)and was our first Rv so many memories came back. Really brought a smile and was glad to see it still being used to make memories. Would I want it back? Nope. We traded for the right reasons.
  • Fifteen years with the last truck. Seemed kind of weird not to see it parked in the driveway. I would come out of the store and not be able to find it, then remember I was looking for the wrong truck. People saw me coming in the new truck...didn't know it was me.

I hated to get rid of her, but I don't miss her, because I really like the new one.
  • If I felt an attachment to some object and felt sad to see it go, I would never had made the decision to part with it in the first place.

I never felt that way about any vehicle I have owned. When replacement time comes, down the road it goes and I couldn't care less what the new owner did with it.
  • I think some people are just more sentimental than others. I have owned many trucks, cars, motorcycles, snowmobiles, only 4 RVs, but never minded seeing any of them go. It was always done with the old, on with the new.

When I think back, some of my new ones, would be collectors hot items now. However, even if they would be fun to have stored away now, it makes no sense to me, if you really don't use or need them.

JMO, every ones thoughts are different.

  • Look at it this way. Some stranger is driving off into the sunset sad because his money is in your pocket.
Money is money. But, the new owner doesn't know if the truck will break down in the next couple miles or go another 100,000 miles trouble free.
Get your new truck and grow attached to it....:)
  • You said sayanora to your old GMC...but what make/model/options does your new truck have, that you will pick up next week ?
  • Trucks are always tough to watch driving away. Like losing an old friend.

Our first TT, we were the same way. Lump in the throat.
