The dish is considerably larger than 3-4 inches. I did not measure it, but closer to 12-13 inches. I have had mine apart twice to watch the process as it searches for the satellites.

opps your right its about 14" just pulled it apart again
Guess I was just remembering how small it was compared to a regular dish ,and all the rain fade made it get smaller and smaller in my old mind
Tailgater is great , easy , but after years with a crank- up dish and little fade its more of a fair weather set up for me , doesn't compare to my Traveler
