Who has replaced their stock air filter with a K&N? Are they really better? Improve performance, gas mileage, etc.

I had one on my last two GM HD 6.0 trucks. Never had a problem with MAF. Just can't over oil them. As for mileage increase, not noticeable. I believe it does give the engine better air flow when needed.
