Who has replaced their stock air filter with a K&N? Are they really better? Improve performance, gas mileage, etc.

I'm glad they work for you. What kind of use does your truck get? Does it mostly stay on roads or do you travel in dusty areas? One of the areas we frequent had volcanic ash fallout in 1980 and that stuff still gets kicked up every time you drive over it or the wind picks up. It did damage to many vehicles that wasn't seen until later.
