K&N

Who has replaced their stock air filter with a K&N? Are they really better? Improve performance, gas mileage, etc.

That's the biggest problem with them is you have to clean and oil them correctly.

I did on my 2005 Cummins but the the filters and intakes on the newer trucks flow and last much better than the older ones.
  • I looked into it for my 2007 2500HD 6.0L
I heard there was alot of issues with Mass Air Flow sensors causing check engines lights. So I passed.
There is plenty of research done on the subject.

  • If they improved mileage and performance, wouldn't the manufacturer use them?
