Had eight days off from work, so we headed west for a couple nights at Kofa Wildlife Refuge, then a few days in Palm Springs visiting family, then a couple more nights at Anza Borrego and the Imperial Sand Dunes.Saw this rig at Organ Pipe two weeks ago.Hiking into Palm Canyon.OcotilloThe namesake for the canyon, and unlikely spot for palm trees to grow.

Morning ride up Kofa Queen.Headed to Palm Springs via side route near Ladder Canyon.Ran across this guy, then yanked him out, because all the cops and rangers were just standing around doing nothing.

Exploring the Indio Hills. A great place, but much of it is unregulated and trashed.Then another trip up another Palm Canyon and Adreas Canyon.

Heading into Anza Borrego via Split Mountain and Fish Creek. Like I said earlier, no GPS, no map, just explored about five drainages.I think this was near the end of Fish Creek. We went up two branches of it. Don't remember the northern branch name.Camp..........Olla Wash, I think.Finally found Sandstone Canyon on our way out. Missed it on the way in because the sun was in our eyes......Lots of cool slot canyons on the sides.

Turn-a-round spot on the canyon.Imperial Sand Dunes.........wanted to camp here, but the wind sucked, so we played, then moved on.Had to air down to continue forward travel.Sunset from camp near Palo Verde.Colorado River.Hideout from the wind, but not the drunk guy who wandered into our camp and nearly got his ass beat, or shot. I have no tolerance for drunk camp invaders at anytime, especially when I'm with my family.Our campers has an 6 gallon black tank, and this is our new solution for limited capacity. Works great.

What a neat trip to have taken. The palm canyon looks interesting.Good solution to the black tank.Sorry about the drunk. Don't let a couple minutes of quality bum time soil what looks to have been a great week.Thanks for the TR.J&KPS, I like the cargo strap tie downs.

No joke there, ask Nolan how many weekends it takes. Some time or other you guys will want to check out the Goat Canyon Trestle, when the kids are a little older. It's a very awesome thing to see and walk on and know that real men built it.

Nice pics all around, really nice to see a tc in the Imperial Dunes. If you wake up one morning and your camper's not on your truck, do NOT go to Mello Mikes house. It will definitely NOT be there.

Right now is the time to go, everything is ready to pop! we are supposed to get rain this weekend and will bring all the flowers in full bloom :)

Yes, a very good trip report covering a lot of territory. The "Indio Hills" look like the Mecca Hills and no, you don't really want to camp your family there.

Between you and Nolan doin Borrego you're makin me want to go back too. When I first started going you could still catch fish in Fish Creek. When I met Peg Leg Smith he had two legs. And Fonts Point didn't exist yet. Fonts De Leon was on a health kick down in Florida somewhere.
