I am not fond of generator noise, so for camping without hookups I chose to buy a 75W solar panel and a solar controller, all for about $125. I wired it with a 7 pin receptacle so I can plug the trailer's cord (the one that goes to the tow vehicle) into it when I'm camping. The solar panel sits on the ground and keeps my battery topped up from running LED lights, detectors, vent fan, and the occasional water pump use.
Also, when stored in the back yard, the solar panel is plugged in and keeping the TT battery topped up all winter.
