KZ Sport Trek Opinions?

Does anyone have any experience with the KZ Sport Trek model? Specifically, the 222VIK model with a Murphy bed. My wife and I looked at one today, and we were pretty impressed with the floor plan and the utility of a small trailer that actually turns out to be bigger and more efficient with the bed folded up.

We are first time RV buyers/owners, and would like any input we might get. Thanks for any help you might offer.

  • With a trailer with only bed and dinette I'd give up pass through storage for a Murphy bed and thus another, and better, place to sit. Depends on your needs and taste.

The 222VIK does have passthrough storage.

I wouldn't also own any trailer with opposing slides that when both stored in the travel position block access to many parts of the interior of the trailer
That's personal preference. My KZ Durango opposing slide model blocks the kitchen when closed. I have no problem opening the slide about two feet or so to allow access to the fridge while stopped for a break or opening it up all the way for lunch. It's really not as big of a deal as some seem to make it.

YOUR trailer is the one that makes YOU happy!

To date I have owned two KZs and a Keystone. I'm staying with KZ.
  • The use of a Murphy bed in a camper seems like a great idea until you start thinking cargo storage space and realize you won't have anywhere near as much in any trailer with a Murphy bed as you would in a model with a front queen walkaround bed with a large passthrough cargo storage compartment below. Our trailer is a short 19 couple's model yet the front storage compartment is huge ...

... and easily contains almost all our camping and trailer support gear. It also has the typical storage below the bed that can be accessed from within the camper by lifting the bed platform or better still by adding cabinet doors for easier access ...

... none of which you'll have with a Murphy bed option.

FWIW, I wouldn't also own any trailer with opposing slides that when both stored in the travel position block access to many parts of the interior of the trailer, as would be the case with that Sportrek ST222VIK.
