Labor Day weekend pics

No-one else could go camping with me so I struck out alone to explore some country I drive past quite often but had never ventured into till now. It's beautiful high mountain country with deep canyons. Unfortunately there wasn't any water running in any of the streams so the wildlife was very scarce. Just a few antelope was all I saw in the valley bottoms. I added another 150 miles to the bikes odometer and traveled some great country.


The road to camp was rutted and slightly rough. I've been down much worse though, but still I couldn't keep all six tires on the ground.






Friday evening was smoky.






But Saturday morning was clear and beautiful

I gave the Honda it's first run down the pavement at highway speed.




I rode up to Meadow Lake, it was very full of campers and fishermen but it was Labor Day after all. I talked to the host a bit and left without staying long but Karla and I will be headed back up there in a few weeks for some fishing now that the summer crowds will be gone.




Once again the electric awning was deployed for shade. Like I said before I really enjoy the push button convenience of this awning over the manual awning that was rarely ever opened on my last camper due to time and complexity of set-up and take down.

I didn't take too many pictures while out riding because digging out the camera was a pain so I'll have to come up with a better place to keep it for future rides. Here are a few but the pictures don't do justice for how huge this country is in person.
