Choosing the camper that is best for you is not going to be easy as it often is matter of sacrificing one option for the other.
I switched from basement TC to one (same length) with side entry and got argument from DW that side entry has less wardrobe space.
I look at new 3-sliders and THEY DON'T HAVE WARDROBE AT ALL.
Make sure that will work for you.
Bottom line for me, I can live with less storage space, but most of the time it boils to kitchen that has counter top big enough to put more than 2 cups, or shower stall that will not make constant curtain fight.
2 inches more here and there can make heck of the difference.
Also lot of basement models tend to create "stairway adventure".
We do have small dogs and they take glow steps better than build-in ones.
BTW my 2017 F350 dually carries 6500lb without modifications just fine.
