I can only agree that the 'fixes' are bandaids to a bad design and that the only way to truly ensure you and your family are safe is to change over to AGM batteries or remove them altogether.
My fix requires constant inspection that it's working and that really isn't practical for the application of an RV. I hate to walk away from my 2-year-old 6volt wet cell Trojan batteries, but what else can I do now that I am aware of the issue? Ignorance is bliss they say. ha!!
I can pretty well bet that Lance will only claim there's been no damages due to this design and that there isn't enough legal protection for the owner even if there was.
So, that leaves me with a question; who makes the best AGM batteries these days?
