Lance 865

Well after 4 months of decision making, I think I have DW ready to buy a Lance 865. We almost bought the 825 but the deal fell apart. We are going to look at a 2014 on Saturday. I hope she likes the size of the shower, I am crossing my fingers.
  • Thanks for the positive feedback,I just sold my pop up TC tonight so I am hoping to buy a 865 very soon.
  • We have the Lance 865 and are very happy with it. We did a 3 week trip this summer and never had a problem with holding capacities. As far as the shower goes, we either used campground showers or sponge bath, it is just not roomy enough for us to use. We like to use a mix of campgrounds and boondocking, so it isn't a problem to us. The biggest limitation for us is the capacity of the refrigerator and you do need to be conservative on what goes down the gray water tank. It is a great camper for it's size. There are many people on this forum that don't have a problem using this size of a wet shower, so this is just my opinion.
  • I view the shower in my camper as a last resort. Its a long bed camper, it is older and poorly laid out. Tight for me at 6-1 and 220. Wife, not a real issue.
I do think the 865 is an ideal camper for camping. Fairly light and has everything I need. Would be my camper of choice if I had a shortbed.
  • Traded our 865 in for an MH last fall. Its was great for moving around quickly from place to place for short visits and remote camp sites. We took it to Alaska from GA last summer, but it was a bit on the tight side after 7 weeks on the road, so we traded the 865 and our 5ver for the new MH.

Lance rigs seem quite well built and if I ever had a another TC -thats the one I would go for.

The wet bath shower was quit snug, but we'd use it whenever CG showers were substandard or not available. Holding tank size made for real quick showers!!!

All the best and hope you have much enjoyment!
