- jimh406Explorer IIICongrats! It looks low in the pic, but you can't tell by that. :)
- alaska_guy1ExplorerSo, the stops feel good... But truck still squats a little. Drives fine, just doesn't look exactly level. I need to air the tires up to 80psi in the rear and 70 in the front still.
- towproExplorerI used to run the same (larger) bumpers on all 4 corners of my 2006 Ram 3500 (they also come in black).
I used all the same size because I figured I wanted the springs to contact the new bumpers at same rate as factory, only sooner. - alaska_guy1ExplorerThanks, I got my new overload bump stops installed today. Curious to see if they help any.
They are energy suspension brand. Truck is unloaded.
Here are the part numbers in case anyone is curious.
Energy Suspension 9.9118G 7/8" Rectangular Universal Snubber Front
Energy Suspension 9.9109R 2-1/2" Heavy Duty Bump Stop - jefe_4x4ExplorerMay you have many happy trips on the road less traveled. It is a pretty one.
I notice in your pic that there are now plugs for the jacks, or what appear to be plugs. Good idea. I"ve been known to take my jacks off. But they are mechanica/armstrong. In fact I leave them at home. Since the 865 is a narrow one, you can make your clearance for the AK outback even narrower and reduce the GVW by 200 pounds.
You know, your rite of passage for the TC-er's on here, is, now you must take a shakedown trip with lots of pics and do a trip report. It looks like you are already in the RV biz, so a weekend/driveway camp is officially waived.
jefe - nomadictxnExplorerGood buy, seems like a good deal. Have fun with that!
- kayakinExplorerWishing you many happy trips in it!
- alaska_guy1ExplorerHere is a picture, got it offloaded from the truck today and it's ready to go!
- alaska_guy1ExplorerDrove the camper home last night without any additional suspension upgrades to the truck and I was amazed. It drives great with that camper. Granted it's dry and empty, but I was expecting it to push me around the road. Very drivable camper! Really happy as far as drivability is concerned.
Figure I will start loading it with camp stuff today. - Old_DaysExplorer IIThe only up grade I did was lower Stable loads. The 865 should be about the same weight as a 825.
