Lance Aluminum Roof Silicone recommendations

Good Morning All,
I see some cracks starting on the seals on the aluminium roof on my lance in the classic spots (around skylights, corners, and AC top). I'm going to clean them up with some mineral spirits and apply some new silicone.

What products do your recommend for resealing aluminium roofs or sealing up small cracks starting in existing silicone? what other prep or tips do you have for this type of maintenance?

Thanks for your time.

It is not recommended because it sucks for this use on any substrate, not that there is any bad reaction, incompatibility etc., from it's use on aluminum roofs.

  • My livin lite has silicone on it. I will not put it back on for sure.
  • The most important recommendations is:

    What does Lance recommend?
What does Lance use at their manufacturing facility?

Silicone is not an automatic no-no on aluminum roofs.
  • Uh oh. You said the 'S' word.
No Sillycone. You're gonna get an earful for saying that around here.
  • As others have said, no silicone!

If there is silicone on there, I've had good luck cleaning up / prepping metal with these 3M scotch-brite disks.

They are actually pretty good for surface prep, period.

    Good luck!
