silicone sealers
There have been many posts over the years about what to use for different sealing problems and the name/term silicone inevitably.
I do not like silicone for this use for many reasons. No.1 anything you get it on is contaminated. Paint (and many other materials) will not stick to silicone. No.2 It does not seal that well on most surfaces.
Run a bead of silicone on wood, fiberglass, metal,or glass and let it dry,do the same with a marine grade Polyurethane. To be fair work both into the surface before they dry. After they are dry try and remove them.
