Well, since you asked, I don't like the standard RV 7-way plug. It's a weak design, and the only good thing I can say about it is that it's the standard. I wish RV's would use a 7-pin plug like the one used on semi tractor-trailers, with round pin and sleeve connectors that will handle up to 8 gauge charge wires and many more amps than the RV plug. The connections on the back side of the plug are a better design and more secure.
The Lance plug is OK, it also supports 8 gauge charge wires, but it's harder to find when you need one. You can get a 7-way semi trailer plug at any NAPA. Since I was going to install a dedicated plug for the TC in the bed close to the cab, that's what I used. And, I do run a a heavy duty charge circuit through it that will charge the camper battery quickly, and keep up with drain of running the fridge off an inverter while on the road.
