I think I read the forum you describe when we were shopping for trailers a year ago. Friends of ours bought a Lance 1885 (now 1985) and we were impressed so we ordered a new 2014 1685 from a Chicago/Zion dealer - over 3 hours north of where we live.
We love our Lance we've had it for a year and towed it over 10,000 miles with our 4 Runner - out east, out west, and back. 3+ months living in the trailer and no complaints. There are a few issues which will be fixed under warranty. Given that any travel trailer endures the equivalent of 4-ish on the earthquake richter scale for hours on end day after day, we have no complaints.
Our Lance 1685 is the perfect solution for us - lightweight and comfortable.
