lance trailers

Does anyone have an opinion on Lance Travel trailers. While researching Lance models,I came across another forum that had a lot of negative reviews.I am interested in model 2385,but would be interested in hearing about issues with any Lance models.
  • We traded up to a Lance 2285 from a Dutchmen 18B this year and couldn't be happier. Gained 4 feet of length and lost more than a ton of weight. All LED lights in & out, windows all around, solar panel on the roof, big tanks, 4 season insulation... The list goes on. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
  • Lance will let you tour the factory and see how they are built. That shows they are confident about the build quality.
  • I think I know which other Lance forum you are talking about. When I was researching Lance TTs, I came across it too. It is almost dedicated to all Lance haters for some reason or another. You will find distractors in every crowd. Personally, I have had no experience with Lance products, therefore no opinion. However for me, I saw a couple of design features I did not care for.
  • Some folks are gonna love 'em and some hate them; all from first hand experience I suspect. Bear with me here for a minute. I've had 3 SunnyBrook trailers (now Winnebago towables), a 1996, a 2000, and a 2005 all the same floor plan. The first had the best fit and finish and they progressively got worse. I ordered the 3rd one with the options I wanted and was disappointed that things that were standard on the first 2 did not come on or were discontinued on the 3rd. The same yet different. I enjoyed all 3. My point is "things change". I would suggest you buy one that looks good as you are shopping now.
  • The Lance 2385 was going to be my next TT. Wasn't ready to trade. I think they have excellent quality. Still looking at The Lance offerings.
  • We have a Lance 1985 23' 4" TT.

It has a walk around full queen bed and is very comfortable & roomy. We were impressed with the workmanship of the Lance. The company has been very good to have any needed things repaired as well.

They are not as heavy as many TT these days. We are able to tow with a Ford F-150 with a small V-8.

  • Nonsense!

Lance makes awesome trailers and truck campers. The 2385 has been out of production for 2 years.

I went thought several trailers before I hit on a lance
  • I looked at them early last year when buddy was shopping for a new TT.
Despite their using some modern materials like Azdel, they are built very cheaply and many small detail din't seem to be thought out well. I was really disappointed.
The other thing we found was that they were kind of trashed inside. Lots of broken items and damage to surfaces and edges from rough handling - and these were straight from the factory according to the dealer.
But if you can find a nice one in good shape that has everything you want and the light weight thing is important to you, go for it.
    JMHO.
