About$27,500 OUT THE DOOR no dealer prep, PDI or whatever other BS they try to pile in there..
I would pay THE ACTUAL DMV COST FOR REGISTRATION AND LICENSE. Many times they add in a fee for that as well so be careful.
What you are looking for is the total on the last line of the contract.
Be careful of contract switcheroos where they push multiple contracts at you until they have you confused.
MY method would be to go to the dealership with my name, address and phone number on a piece of paper. Introduce yourself and go to the unit you want. Say the following words. I want to buy this unit. This is my name etc.(hand salesman the paper. I am willing to pay $27,500 for the unit OUT THE DOOR. no add ons etc. DO YOU understand? I will let you go talk to whoever you have to. If you come back with a yes I am prepared to make the deal right now. If you come back with any other answer I intend to leave. I will not dicker. . If the salesperson comes back with any other answer than yes. WALK OUT THE DOOR! They have your number and will call if your offer was reasonable. Be careful when you go back cause they might start to play games. Be ever vigilant of that bottomline.
I think if someone approached me with an attitude like that I'd show them the door. You don't have to be taken advantage of in the deal, but there's no reason to treat a salesperson like a subhuman.
I have bought my last three vehicles that way and never had buyers remorse. Customer is at a disadvantage anytime he negotiates . You would NOT show me the door if my price was a fair one for your company.
You mean you've gone in, stated your demands then asked "DO YOU understand"? I doubt it.
It is EXACTLY what I say. SO often people do not hear what you say specially when they are trying to size you up instead of listening to what you are saying. This way if they come back talking **** instead of giving me an answer I can and will say "You said you understood but apparently you were not listening to me. GOOD BYE. I have no time for the games salespeople play. Let us get the deal done and be done with it. I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.
Also I have walked out of the HUGE dealership when they did not listen to me. They called me within 15 minutes.
You must be such a pleasant person!
In my 40 years of driving, I've purchased many vehicles, both new and used. With the exception of my very first purchase, I've always gone in with a price I'm willing to pay. It's so much easier to do your research now than in the past.
I do make it very clear of what my bottom line is, based on my research, and that I'm quite willing to walk if I can't get my price. I've always been able to purchase at my price.
The difference is, I treat the sales person with dignity and respect. There was only one time where I was not treated the same in return.
Although I've always laid out my price in advance, I've never produced my demands then ask "DO YOU understand?" as if I were scolding someone.
Just a matter of personality I guess.
