" if my price was a fair one for your company."
And that is the crux of stating your price at the beginning: how do you know what the proper price is for that unit? I looked at many Lance 1995s before purchasing, and each could be slightly, or greatly, different. Some dealers ordered their units with all the bells and whistles. Some ordered with slight variations, some with very different configurations.
Unless you have a factory order sheet for that particular model, and the pricing, and know exactly what the unit you are looking at has on it, your offer many not be relevant to that unit. Be careful when being bold, because if you don't have all the correct information, you simply appear as a dufus.
Some Lance dealers don't deal on price, as they sell everything they get, very quickly. I found two dealers who wouldn't deal off their sticker. I also found a dealer who would deal, and we came to terms. I also purchased a WDH, additional solar panel, and two larger batteries. All part of the negotiation. I treated the salesman with respect, and I got what I feel was a great price. Much lower than the two dealers that didn't budge on price.
Good luck! It is a fun process, if you do your research, and have good rapport with the salesman. Respect begets respect.
