Larger fuel tank for GM SB Extended cab

I found that with my GM short bed extended cab diesel pickup that no one makes an aftermarket fuel tank to improve on capacity of the stock tank. Aero Tanks in San Bernardino will put them into production but they need a customer's truck to get the necessary measurements. Anyone with such a truck might be able to work out a good deal with Jacob in return for their lending him their truck for a few hours.
  • Or Nitto Terra Grappler tires rated at 3750@80 PSI. Hard to understand someone worrying about an extra 140 lbs. with a heavy duty truck. My German Shepard weighs that much and I don't worry when he gets into the truck.

For a camper an in the bed transfer fuel tank is not a viable option. It would also hurt resale value as compare to replacing the stock tank.

I was only hoping someone with a 2011-2014 GM extended cab short bed truck might be in Southern CA and interested in talking to the people at Aero Tanks and nothing more. GM changed the trucks in 2011 so there are only replacement tanks available for 2001-2010 pickups from Titan or Aero.

I have been wondering the same thing. My 2007.5 needs something, I have been considering a small transfer tank but haven't ruled out a replacement tank. The transfer tank is much cheaper though. Hey Jtrac, have you noticed any problems with the fuel gauge working correctly or any check engine lights? I have heard there are some problems with replacing the existing tank. I think I saw it on one of the Duramax forums.

The only thing that doesn't work properly is the miles to empty. Every thing else works as usual. In almost 2 years I have not had a single problem with the tank other than I have to be careful at the end of a fill up as it will spit some fuel on occasion. Shortening the vent hose helped some but I usually stuff a few paper towels around the fill hole just in case. Looks like I'm going to have to rethink all this as I am close to pulling the trigger on ordering a 2015 GMC dually. I'm trying to decide if I am going to pull the Titan and put the old one back on. Not sure if there is a market for them.
