Larger tires on F350

I run 285/75/16 Cooper Discoverer ATP s on my 04 F 350. Love em.

Will only be slightly larger. Not enough to be an issue, in my opinion.

I went from 245s to 285s on my 2013 work truck. That was a big difference but its been nothing but good for two years.

The tires will be about 1.5" taller than what you have now. They should clear the front, but you may have trouble fitting chains on the front axle with that diameter tire without lifting the truck.

When I bought my '12 F350 it had 275-65 R20 on it. I have kept them and getting new cooper AT-3s this week. Hoping to get more than the 28k miles I got out of last set.

Hey! 28K sounds great :B . I will be happy to see anything over 25K on the OEM tires on my 2014 Ram

I had an older Superduty 350, and I ran 285/65/18's. IMO they were the ideal size for the truck . The OEM were 265/75/16 , so they were a little taller. I would thing 285/75/18 would also be ideal.

My new truck has OEM 275/75/18's, and the tire you are thinking of is what I will probably go to, heard good things about the Toyo

Unless things have changed on the newer Superduties , my older one with stock tires did not except chains very well . I could get them on ,but had to be careful how sharp I turned .

I had one parked right next to me today, looked sweet but it was tall. Not sure it would match up with a fiver though. I would never chain the front end and I don't think Ram or Ford would recommend it either so clearance wouldn't be a problem for me.

245/75R17, 275/70R18 and 245/70R19.5 tires all cleared low profile chains on the front of my 2005 4wd F250. The latter two were about 33" tall - Even with the 18" tire width, it had no clearance issue. This was with one tire up on a curb with the wheels turned full lock to either side simulate suspension compression.

I just replaced the original tires on my truck with Toyo at2's. The size I went with was 295/70/18. These are considered the Xtreme size and are a little more aggressive on the sidewall. They fill out the wheel well a little more than the 275/70/18's. No rub at all. Should be great for ski season. I'll post some before and after pics when I get them off my phone.
