Well the last car/ trucks or Utes finished when local production at Ford closed.,They were still selling till the very end. No the current Ranger did not satisfy people who wanted the car/ truck Utes...

They didn't even make a Stout in 1954.
The Toyopet RK23 truck came out in 1956.... Toyopet RK23 truck
Then it later became known as the Stout in 1959...1959 Toyopet Stout
Then had a refresh in 1960 making it look more like American pickups at the time.... 1960 Stout
Then it got a crew cab variant in 1962 which was 5 years after this..... 1957 International Harvester Travellete
The rest is history with more American trucks becomong four doors like what your see today, and the global trucks being based off of smaller versions of the American standard truck.
