FYI, air bags do not deploy if bag protected seating position occupants are not buckled in. The air bag will hurt you more than the accident in those cases. And if you want to litigate, the manufacturer can recover that fact from onboard electronics. I watched that retrieval process once. All the rep said was "take me back to the airport, I'm done here." Took 10 minutes. They also do not deploy when the impact angle would throw the passenger out of the narrow cone where the bag would help.
