I'm always reading on these forums how everyone wants a clean LBZ but have had mine listed for a week on Craigslist and a couple other sites at KBB mid-private party value and can't even get an inquiry. I'm thinking maybe because they are getting too old for banks to finance? Anyone tried to finance an 06 truck?? Any luck??I really don't want to trade it in but am about to.

A week isn't long to have a vehicle listed for sale. I have had everything from motorcycles to ATVs to trucks listed on CL. It took anywhere from 10 days to 90 days but everything has always sold.If you are patient, you get a bite and probably close to what you are asking.

Post it on Duramax Forum . There is a for sale section. They eat those things up!

The demand for the LBZ is nuts. I've had two guys offer me more then I paid for my LBZ. Both times in Fleet Farm parking lots. CRAZY

Sounds like you are getting some interest, but maybe a change of websites might help. I listed my '06 LBZ on Autotrader about 18 months ago, and I was getting calls from as far away as So. California and Phoenix (I'm in SLC). It sold in a week for my asking price.

Financing did seem to be an issue for a few people, though, and I'm sure that as the truck gets older, it will be harder.

My 07 LBZ has less than 100,000 on it. I no longer use it for towing, but looking at new prices I keep it. I do get a few stares since it is my toad, but since it has been reliable and easy to maintain I will probably keep it until the wheels fall off it.

Sorry to interrupt the party and get back on the topic at hand :) :)

I guess it pays to be the squeaky wheel.... I lowered my price a couple days ago and got swamped with interest today. I've got several people lined up to come look tomorrow. I had a couple site-unseen offers from low ballers that were still 5K more than the dealer offered me on trade.

Now that I know I'm in the ballpark I might go ink the deal on a new ride but want to be sure it's the right one. If my truck goes quickly and for the right price I might even rent something for a week or two just to be sure I take my time (tax write-off for work anyway).

I took the trash out tonight and looked at my truck and TT and was sad to think I may have pulled the last mile with the old Duramax :)

I like gold, but I like platinum better:B Haven't seen one LBZ pass me by, but I will say they keep me looking in my mirrors :B No doubt one of the best pullers out there for the pre emission era.

It was me that Troy wasjabbing with the Gold Standard comment...but the context is important...IMO, and current resale prices validate it, in the used HD pickup diesel market the 2006 and early 2007 GM Duramx/Allisons's with the LBZ engine have the best overall reputation...it is the Gold standard in used diesel pickups..

Ya I don't agree with the lbz "gold standard" bit. The newer trucks are far quieter with far less stink and way more hp tq. Lbz still had issue with transfer case rub failure in the 4x model and leaking trans lines on all the Allison's. Any diesel is expensive to have work done. Most of the failing trucks of any brand are tuned. Just sayin. Nothing is that mythical that you can jack the price and expect majic. Check the lbz forum on diesel place and you'll see failures like the other engine codes. Prices of winter diesel are slowing truck sales.

My math says an '06 is only 8 years old anyway.

You need to do some research an LBZ, even an LMM all shared the same brakes, frame and body since 2001. If you think decade old technology is the "gold standard" I feel sorry for you.
I am pretty sure that the Body changed around 2008?

I know for sure that the Body changed from 2001. I test drove a 2010 that had a new body over my 2001. That would have been a LMM.
