LBZ Duramax Sought After?????

I know it's tough selling something outright, I occasionally can get a buyer, but as I get older the less it appeals to me to put up with tire kickers, idiots, and getting ridiculous offers. Trading something in really is the most hassle free alternative once you get over the "ouch". If you do trade it in, just work for every dime you can get out of it.

Nice looking truck, if its the black one 141k miles. Ad does not say, but I assume its a 2500.

The 140K on the clock is probably slowing people down a bit. Given that you do not pay sales tax in Oregon trading in is a little less attractive. I would however go back to the RAM dealer and try to stretch them to 23-24K and make the deal! Lay out the deal you want and walk if you have to. Lots of times they will call you up a day later and say "come and get the new truck". They know that the Chevy will sell right away on their lot.

He is right...the Gold Standard LBZ trucks do not sit on the lot for long...even at the still rising prices for them...

I looked for over 3 months for the Gold Standard 2006 LBZ CC Dually I am now driving...at first, I balked at the prices these trucks were bringing...I tried to buy two different LBZ dually's locally but hesitated about the price...Both trucks were sold within a couple of days...I kept looking...I thought I had made a deal on a truck that was on a dealers in Iowa...before I could get a credit card deposit to the dealer, he sold it for more money.

Another month of looking finally led me to Louisiana and my current late year 2006 Chevy CC Dually which although 2 wheel drive was otherwise loaded with options and only 59000 miles. I bought the truck for $25000 and they gave me $38500 in trade for the POS 6.7 Ford I traded...and they delivered it to my house.

One year later, and just over 20000 miles, the truck has been great...but I was disappointed when I had to replace a rear turn signal bulb. Recently, after reading a similar thread about LBZ"s here,I looked on Autotrader to see what the trucks were bringing on the market...and low mileage trucks like mine were all priced in the high $20,000 range...I believe I could make money selling this truck...but then I would have to replace it...I think I will keep it for a few more years...

Glad to hear of your positive experience with your LBZ Ric, especially after your less than positive experience with the previous POS. Everyone I know that has one(LBZ), has nothing but good things to say about them. It's nice when someone actually has some personal experience with a truck, and provides the feedback that you do. ;)

Every Duramax since has been more expensive, more complex, and gotten worse fuel mileage. Engine technology really hasn't improved. Government EPA regulations have progressed and required more hardware. I don't call that progress. I'll take an LBZ over a new one any day.
My math says an '06 is only 8 years old anyway.

You need to do some research an LBZ, even an LMM all shared the same brakes, frame and body since 2001. If you think decade old technology is the "gold standard" I feel sorry for you.
