leaking grease seal.

So the Tt has a hub leaking grease. going to take it to MM trucking in Lincolnton NC to get it fixed. According to them. They will more than likely have to do the brakes on that hub as well. Make sense?

BTW. M&M Trucking also has on the road repair for all you MH drivers
  • By giving you the heads up, on possible brake replacement, they are avoiding a confrontation with a customer, that may not understand why the extra work is needed.

While it may be possible that the pads are not grease soaked, and don't need replacing, they will know, when the hub is removed. Depending on miles of brake use (miles on trailer) they may even recommend replacing the brake shoes on the other side (same axle), which may not be a bad idea either.

Yep. Lots of folks have a problem with reading comprehension. They read things that are just not there. The post was about question brakes shoes. Not Wheel bearings.

  • Does your TT have EZ lube bearings/hubs? IOW, a zerk fitting to add grease.
  • Here's a video I did when I repacked the bearings on a trailer I bought earlier this year. In the video are a few photos of a bigger cargo trailer I bought, which had blown grease seals on all 4 hubs. I had to replace all 4 drums and brake assemblies.

  • If there is grease on the brake shoes, you can not get it out. You will definitely want to replace them.
