- slomarkExplorerI use the o-ring lube for pool valves, fast and easy.
- Luke_PorterExplorerI changed my toilet seal once, don't remember what brand. Loosen a big "hose clamp", lift china bowl off "riser", seal lays right there between the two. Takes a few minutes.
- lots2seeinmyrvExplorerOurs leaked too. I cleaned toilet around seal. Put on rubber gloves and lubed it with Plumbers Grease. Leaked a lot less, just slow leak...then clean again and put more lube then it was fine. i think I did three applications over a week. No more problems using it for over a year now.
- Vet_ManExplorerMy dealer charged me $50 to remove toilet and replace seal. Well worth it to me. He did it while I waited, about 1 hr.

a new seal is about 5 bucks at any hardware. easy job rubber gloves and some rags .
I could only wish it were that easy..
These seals are specific to the toilet brand and even the model in some cases.
I had to completely remove the toilet, and take it apart to replace the seal. Not a 5 buck, easy job....but doable and MUCH less expensive than having it done by a dealer.
If cleaning it doesn't work, then it's tool time.
Good luck with it. - You_can_t_take_Explorer

First.....
Turn off water supply
Hold toilet ball open
Then using your hands...YES your hands.....thoroughly clean seal with dishsoap flexing it while cleaning...top/bottom. Use a flat wood stick (popcicle/tongue depressor) to scrape any stuff off (scale/TP etc)
Clean the ball also.
Then rinse it and dry with paper towel
Using your hands (AGAIN).....thoroughly lube it up with some olive oil (or plumbers grease) really work it in
IF that does make seal work..........hold water
THEN replace it
That probably will mean complete removal of toilet
Just look up your model number .....find part number and goggle it

I don't think so! I have replaced two toilet seals on the Dometic RV toilets and the seal kit is a lot more expensive than that and is certainly not available at any hardware store that I am aware of. You have to be thinking about a normal home toilet seal.
Barney - midnightsadieExplorer IIa new seal is about 5 bucks at any hardware. easy job rubber gloves and some rags .
- 2oldmanExplorer IIdepends on the type of toilet.
