Leather driver seat wear
With the constant sliding in & out of our F350, just wondering if the leather seat ever wears a hole thru along the outer edge and how many years it takes; that seems to be the spot that gets the most abrasion.

I do step on my running boards, similar to the OP, I'm 6'4" and can get in and out pretty easily. But, I also haven't treated them that well, not the seats fault.Mine is an 02 X and the leather is not worn through, but drivers seat bottom is cracking pretty good. I need to see if I can still get a factory replacement. I would recommend getting at least the bottom material. that way you will have it if you need it. cheap insurance. wish I would`ve bought one years ago just to have around!
Our '96 Camry lasted about 10 years before being replaced by local person who does car replacement seats on the side. Couldn't tell the difference from the factory passenger side. Still looked good when I sold the car last year.

Hey 45, thanks for the laugh.- 12 years and 125,000 miles and mine are showing zero wear. They are also properly maintained.

- The leather seats in my 2000 Mercury Mountaineer are still in great shape, no splits or tears. It has seen plenty of use; for the first 8 years I was in and out of that truck 15 times a day. It gets plenty hot here in OK, too. I guess longevity must depend on a lot of factors, one of them being luck.
- I try to sit down into the driver seat rather than sliding across it. Of course im 6'3" so that might be easier for me. 12 years now and the seat still looks great.
