I'm not sure it is a function of wheelbase or TT weight vs TV weight, but my 25 ft total length trailer influenced the ride of my little station wagon a lot more than it does my half ton quad cab truck.
Of course, the wagon only weighs 2700 lbs, and the truck is close to 5500.
That said, having put roughly 8000 miles on the wagon + trailer combo, I never once felt out of control. The fastest speed I bothered with was 65mph on the highways, and less if traffic was heavy and I was getting passed a lot. With the truck, I still only go 65, but I haven't felt the need to slow down when getting passed.
