Good post, nice to see most of this beginner stuff in one post.
If Ford is going to discontinue the F250, I'll have to rethink my next truck purchase and if I want to keep my '03 for the assumed increased value in the future. I was looking at a new F350 since they are nearly the same price and resale value should be higher. I've owned a lot of Fords and the F250 has always been a better hauling truck than the F150.
For those that want to assess the characteristics of frames, the engineering tool box is a good place to start. They list different load characteristics for beams and columns.
My older Starcraft has a full box beam frame and Starcraft used the same throughout it's line of TT's, mine being on the lower end of weights. It is about as straight as I have had on any trailer. I know some folks think poorly of a box frame because of assumed hidden rust but I've found that they are the most durable.
