use Walkie talkies to communicate with ground guide. use passenger side and drivers side to determine which way the tt needs o go instead of right left. This prevents many fights and many unwanted hand gestures.
This is what DH and I have discovered the hard way.
Our lessons learned after having a truck camper and starting out with a new TT, if the campsite does not list the trailer icon, don't attempt to 'just see' if there are any sites. Our first outing with TT we wanted to stay at a lake up in the mountains. The map listed camping, but I did not realize at the time the symbol for tent camping really meant just tent camping. As we approached the lake, we had a difference of opinion on stopping to do a walking scout of the area before parking. Instead, my lovely hubby maneuvers (wedges) our (also new) 1 ton, long bed dually through two rocks in the road. Then tries to get the trailer through those rocks. In the end, the truck and camper were backed back out to a spot to turn around. A nice man with a chain saw cut down a tree limb lodged up against the side of the tailer and the AC unit. The side step on passenger side is scrapped and loose. We now have walkie talkies and commands of driver/passenger side. But best of all, when DW states we should scout first, DH agrees. And I know now to avoid sites that do not list trailers as an option.
