In my 15 year RV "career" I've owned two TTs and one 5th and am looking at a change to a different RV for the coming season.
I go back and forth from TT to 5th about 3X a week as I'm shopping and thinking, so you're question is a good one. I've got enough truck for the 5th wheels I'm eyeing so that's not my dilemma. To me, the biggest pros/cons are (in no particular order):
5th - I like layout better with the separation between the bedroom and living area (I'm 43 and thankfully stairs aren't a problem... yet).
5th - I like the standing shower as opposed to the tub better
TT - like having my truck bed available for bikes and whatnot.
TT - I like not having to empty out my bed and lift an "anvil" in to hook up the 5th
5th - The towing experience is much better
TT - I already own the WDH and would have to pay 1K+ for a 5th hitch
As you can see my 5th pros are about as much as my TT pros.
I think it's just going to come down to which way the wind is blowing when my current unit sells and I set out to buy a new one.
