Lets Talk - TT Vs Fifth Wheel

Tow vehicle constraints, storage constraints mostly. I am of the bigger is not necessarily better train of thought. While I think the way you intend to use your RV is the most important consideration, like are you full timing? or just weekending or a couple weeks vacation type of use. Cost is also another thing I had to keep in mind as my budget is not limitless. I have a 30' Coleman 268rk. We love the floor plan as its just the 2 of us, no little kidniks to have to accommodate. As many people that post there will be all kinds of reasons, all personal preference unique to each.

5'ers are very nice no doubt, and I had one a few years back. But I've had TT's since because they suit my purpose just fine. I need the space in my truck bed for fishing equipment, etc. But then, I'm single and travel solo.

Choose a TT because I have an Expedition SUV and have no use or desire for a pickup. The Expedition can hold up to 8 people and goes anywhere with or without the TT. A pickup can't hold up to 8 and to me needs a use for the bed besides to hold a 5ver hitch.. Just my personal opinion...

What BB said is true, we chose our TT over a 5er due to height, weight. and storage conditions.

It all depends on how you prefer to travel.

We had no problems on our 6000 mile road trip this summer. But we travel lightly with no kayaks, atv's, or such. The largest accessory is a pool cue.

still have a 24 ft TT. with a 2009 GMC 1500
also 30 ft 5er. with 2015 Ram 3500
we love our trailer, but we now travel a lot more. TT was just a little cramped. we have 2 kayaks, a 14 ft jon boat generator and firewood, and misc.
in bed of truck. we were really pushing our weight, so moved to the Ram, of course then we went to 5er. we love the space.
have found towing is better, but TT was ok to.
I suppose if we were camping for short trips TT would make it.
