Indestructible yes, but the downside is this material is really heavy. :M It's the same material used for the stair tread mats I linked to earlier, the advantage to those being much less cutting to create a stack of blocks. Compared to Lynx though, Lynx win hands down when it comes to lighter weight. My experience with Lynx is that a single layer can slip apart on a slick surface and can crack if sitting on an uneven surface such as crusher gravel ... I solved both issues years ago by mounting a a base layer of Lynx on a folding wood base (5 pics) and have been using this system for years now with no issues at all. :B
They are definitely heavier, but it's not that bad. The whole mat all together weighed about 90 lbs, but I only got halfway through the mat before I had too many blocks lol. I ended up using the rest of the mat for other things. All the blocks I have onboard weighs roughly about the same as the pressure treated wood I was carrying before (around 40-45 lbs).
Cutting up the mats is surprisingly easy. The trick is to bend the mat over an edge while cutting. It only took about 3 strokes to get through a section doing it that way. Stair treads would cut down on cutting, but they're normally must thinner and more costly. The whole mat only cost me $42 and since I only used half for blocks, the blocks only cost me $21.
