Wood blocks to go up and a shovel to go down. For the blocks I just cut up a bunch of 2x6 scrap wood I had laying around the place on my table saw. I also carry a couple of 16" concrete blocks that I tip up on-end for the rear stabilizer jacks. I'm sure there are lighter solutions but the blocks work.
