Leveling truck camper question

So it's our first time out camping I our truck camper, I got the rig level using the Jack's, the back is touching the box, but the front is lifted off the box. Is this the correct way to do it?

  • Dunno, I have a newer, 2016, model and no flexing that can tell.

The idea being that there's more surface support having it on the bed. I have a flat bed. I doubt there should be any flexing if it's level...

I use the little green bubble things to guide me on leveling, but it's "Grab a beer, sit back and watch..." thing heheh...

I would be concerned if it's flexing, something's not level or being supported as it should be...

One way is to "Jack it up" to level and then then lower "ALL jacks" till they start to show out of balance...

It may be, one corner is not quite right...

    Hope that helps..
  • Yeah next time I think I'll get those lego blocks. I was a little concerned Cuz I noticed the floor flexing a big when the wife was walking near the bathroom, none of the wood appears to be rotten, is flex normal in a basement model?
  • Yah, that's how I do it...

Right now, today, the back is supported on the truck bed and front is lifted apx 4-6"... using the jacks... I've had it worse, but learned to use the little 'Lego Graduated blocks" to lessen the lift.

I try to keep as much as I can onto the truck bed. Once level, I'll adjust the "Free jack" down to stabilize..

Just be careful when you lower it that nothing is caught between the camper and the bed..

    Hope that helps..
