How many here have had issues with the police regarding obscured license plates due to their truck campers?Has anyone been stopped for such things? Or stopped for other issues but had the cops mention the obscured plates?My front-mount spare tire obscures the front plate. My scissor steps more or less obscure the rear plate. I've never had an issue with this in my 11 years of TC use. Then again, I've never been stopped by the cops, period.

I've never heard of anyone being stopped.It's something that I am not concerned about happening.I see a lot of campers running around the Spokane, WA area and no one else is concerned either since I never see a relocated truck plate mounted on the camper.If someone relocated their truck plate to the camper, that would probably raise a red flag to a state trooper.

There was a rash of people getting tickets for obscured plates up here, including the plastic frame that dealerships install around the plates. Most were for bicycle racks left on vehicles without bicycles. Brian

Years ago I got stopped in California for having a dirt bike mounted on my front bumper obscuring me front license plate. CHP officer only gave me a verbal warning though. It was early on a Saturday morning on a lonely road in the desert. I think he was having a slow day and just wanted to talk with someone. ;)
